Chamber Bright Stars 2018

The Chamber Bright Stars for 2018 will be recognized on Thursday, October 25th   at the semi-annual Chamber Leadership meeting and eleventh annual Chamber Bright Star Awards presentation of the Northern Ohio Area Chambers of Commerce (NOACC) at the new entertainment complex, PINSTRIPES in Pinecrest in Orange, Ohio .

About 40 chambers of commerce across northern Ohio nominated a person from their chamber as their “Bright Star,” to recognize a chamber member who has “made a significant impact on the chamber through membership, retention, sponsorship, economic development, operations and/or education.”  Each Bright Star is an active chamber member for no less than two years and is likely to be an unsung hero or a dedicated behind-the-scenes volunteer.

These volunteers represent a wide range of involvement with their respective chambers, some having been a member and or officer or committee chairman for 20+ years and some being newly involved but each of whom has given freely of his/her time, working hard for their chambers without any expectations.

This is the eleventh year for the Chamber Bright Star Awards, and again is giving an opportunity to recognize these volunteers among their peer groups, as chamber representatives, board members and spouses will also be in attendance.

Cindy Caldwell, NOACC Executive Director said “All chambers depend on the help and support they receive from every volunteer, from the smallest to the largest effort and everything in between.  We need our volunteers and we welcome the opportunity to appreciate them at this annual festive occasion. ”

All the Bright Star photos and information from previous years is available at www.noacc.org/brightphotos.html.  A link to the photos and video from this year’s event are posted on the www.noacc.org website.      -0-

GREAT NEWS! And Congratulations to Both!

CONGRATULATIONS!  The Leadership Team of the Northern Ohio Area Chambers of Commerce (NOACC) are excited to announce the new Executive Director is Cindy Caldwell, formerly the Executive Director of the Beachwood Chamber of Commerce.

Cindy accepted the position as the former Executive Director Vicky Hawke is transitioning to the position of Chamber Liaison for NOACC.  Vicky has served as Executive Director since March of 2002 and prior to that was one of the founding chamber leaders of NOACC starting in 1992.  She has guided the growth of the organization from its infancy to the largest independent chamber group in the country.  We know that the chamber spirit and passion will continue with Cindy.

As the Executive Director of the Beachwood Chamber for the past 5 years, Cindy has shown the kind of understanding and support for small businesses and chamber leadership that is necessary to create the environment needed for the future.  As the previous NOACC Chairman for the past three years, she has been working with other chamber executives in the region already and will bring fresh ideas and purpose to the 120 chambers of commerce of NOACC.

Cindy Caldwell said, “I’m really excited to be following Vicky as the new Executive Director.  It has been inspiring to see the potential of a large group working together to benefit the region through this network of chambers and business leaders.”  Vicky is also pleased with this transition, she said, “It has been an honor and privilege to have worked with so many wonderful people these past 16 years.  The chamber ideals run in my blood and I look forward to doing what I can in the future to continue the success of local chambers and NOACC. “

Congratulations to both ladies in their future efforts and to the NOACC for serving as the organization that supports the chambers of commerce in northern Ohio and beyond.  The future is truly bright.
